Honor's latest foldable, the Magic V6, makes its case on two fronts: it is remarkably thin for a book-style foldable, and it is built to take punishment. This review is not a spec-sheet tour. We used the phone as our daily driver for a full week, including some deliberately harsh conditions, and this is what we found.
Durability Testing
Foldables rarely invite abuse, so we gave the Magic V6 plenty of it. Beyond everyday desk use, we put it through a 1.5-ton vehicle pull test and checked its water resistance in practice. The phone carries both IP68 and IP69 certifications, which means serious protection against dust and water — a rarity in the foldable category.
Displays and Design
Unfolded, the phone measures 156.7 x 145.6 x 4.0 mm; folded, it shrinks to 156.7 x 74.5 x 8.8 mm. Weight comes in at 219 or 224 grams depending on the variant. The inner 7.95-inch LTPO2 AMOLED panel runs at 2172 x 2352 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5000-nit peak brightness. The outer 6.52-inch LTPO2 OLED display offers 1080 x 2420 pixels, 120Hz and 6000 nits. A NanoCrystal Shield coating adds extra scratch protection, and both screens support stylus input.
Performance and Software
At its core is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, built on a 3 nm process, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. Memory options are 12 or 16 GB of RAM, with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone ships with MagicOS 10 on top of Android 16 and is promised 7 years of major OS updates.
Cameras
The rear setup includes three cameras: a 50 MP f/1.6 main sensor with OIS, a 64 MP f/2.5 periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 50 MP f/2.2 ultrawide with a 122-degree field of view. Video recording tops out at 10-bit 4K @ 30/60fps, supported by OIS and gyro-EIS. Each screen gets its own 20 MP f/2.2 selfie camera, and both front sensors can shoot 4K @ 30fps video.
Battery and Connectivity
The global version carries a 6660 mAh Si/C Li-Ion battery; Chinese variants push that to 6850 mAh and 7150 mAh. Charging is handled at 80W wired and 66W wireless, with 5W reverse charging also on board. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared port, USB Type-C 3.1 and DisplayPort 1.2. You get dual Nano-SIM plus eSIM, but no 3.5mm headphone jack — stereo speakers with 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res support fill that gap. Biometric security is handled by a side-integrated fingerprint reader.
