Anthropic is completing its model lineup. The company released Opus 5.5 last month and Sonnet 5.5 just a week ago. Now it's the turn of the fastest and cheapest member of the family: Claude Haiku 5.5.
Performance: Closing in on Sonnet 5.5
Haiku 5.5 is designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive workloads. According to Anthropic's benchmark results, the model scores close to Sonnet 5.5, which is far more expensive. It also manages to beat OpenAI's new GPT-6 Luna model across all tests.
The company emphasizes that the model works seamlessly with Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5 in agentic coding tasks. It's also said to be ideal for speed-sensitive scenarios like live customer support and browser automation.
Pricing: 75% off
The biggest change is the pricing. Haiku 5.5 is on average 75% cheaper than its predecessor. 1 million input tokens cost $0.10, and 1 million output tokens cost $0.50. For Haiku 4.5, those figures were $1 and $5.
Where to access it?
The model is available starting today via Claude Platform, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
