Hyundai has finalized Turkish prices for the IONIQ 3, its new electric model built at the company's Izmit plant. The entry-level version goes on sale from 1.799.000 TL.

With the price list now out, we've gone through the car from top to bottom: Is the range enough for long trips, what technology is on board, and which drivers is it best suited for? Here are our answers.

First, the exterior: what does the IONIQ 3 look like?

The IONIQ 3 is the product of what Hyundai calls its "Art of Steel" design philosophy, sporting sharp body lines, slim light signatures and a sloping rear for a contemporary stance. Whether you like it is a matter of taste, but there's no arguing it's bold. The clean front fascia and the rear spoiler that carries on the roofline give the model a sporty air.

At roughly 4.16 meters long, 1.80 meters wide and with a 2.68-meter wheelbase, the model offers dimensions that go beyond good looks and should prove practical in everyday use.

What about the interior and cargo space?

Depending on the trim, the car gets a 12.9- or 14.6-inch touchscreen multimedia display, with navigation joining in on the higher packages. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all versions, while Hyundai's Pleos Connect infotainment system rounds out the tech experience.

On the cargo front, there's a total of 441 liters of capacity: 322 liters in the main compartment and 119 liters in an additional storage area called the Megabox.

Motor, performance and range assessment

The IONIQ 3 isn't a sports car; it's an electric vehicle engineered around everyday needs. According to Hyundai's figures, the standard-range version produces 147 PS while the long-range version makes 135 PS. Torque is 250 Nm in both options, with power sent to the front wheels.

The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 9 seconds in standard range trim and 9.6 seconds in long range form. In other words, this is a character built not for those chasing sporty performance, but for city driving and normal-paced use.

Range and charging times

Two battery options are available: 42.2 kWh in standard range and 61 kWh in long range. Under the WLTP cycle, range reaches up to 344 and 496 kilometers respectively.

On DC fast charging, the 10 to 80 percent charge time is about 29 minutes for the standard version and about 30 minutes for the long-range version. On the AC side, 11 kW is standard, with a 22 kW option available on some trims.

With up to 496 km of range, 441 liters of total cargo space and a compact body, the IONIQ 3 is a sensible electric contender, especially for city use. The 11 kW AC support and quick charging times add daily advantages, and being built in Izmit boosts the model's value for the Turkish market.

But calling it a perfect choice for everyone would be a stretch. Prices starting at 1 million 799 thousand TL and crossing the 3 million TL mark on top versions demand a serious budget depending on the trim.
